Handcrafted Gates
New South Wales, Australia

A unique project completed by a collaborative group of class-leading blacksmiths to bespoke design and make three sets of gates for a private client based in rural new South Wales, Australia.
Although the client was based 10,000 miles away, the client was an admirer of the works of renowned retired artist blacksmith James Horrobin and commissioned gates to be designed and made in a collaboration between James Horrobin, Dominic Hesp and the craftsmen of West Country Blacksmiths.
The gates were meticulously handcrafted from steel at West Country Blacksmiths' historic National Trust owned forge on the edge of Exmoor and was galvanized to ensure maximum protection against rust and then expertly finished with a durable paint system. Select design elements were gilded with 23 carat gold leaf by Gabrielle Horrobin, adding a refined and timeless detail to the finished work
Following completion, the gates were carefully exported to a property in rural new South Wales, Australia, where they were installed by local tradesmen.
